The Nobody Hole Game Experience is a surreal narrative adventure born from the acclaimed hip hop opera of the same name (orig. released 2006). At it’s core, The Nobody Hole has always been an exploration of music, visual art and immersive experience. The writing, performance, and now interactive adaptation have been lead by Nobody Hole creator, award-winning artist and storyteller Sum Patten. The game follows Pygmy Paul, a young boy and gifted visual artist who falls into an alternate underworld after finding his mother has destroyed his art. In the Nobody Hole, dream state, wound healing, and ancestry intertwine to create a dimension that for 20 years has inspired music, visual art and now an immersive gaming experience. Our story and gameplay is guided by original music that advances the narrative. Players use mystic “pens” to draw, fight, and restore the Five Sacred Gardens. Developed by Kizmet Experience Studio in collaboration with GRX Immersive Labs and Lightheaded Media (VFX and virtual production), the project fuses hip hop culturual perspective, shamanism, and immersive technology into a wholly new form of interactive art. Our production was a hybrid of virtual world builds, cinematic motion capture, and a little generative AI (Midjourney, RunwayML, KlingAI) to help us with the time crunch. The main tools in our workflow included Unreal Engine, Sony Mocopi, Optitrack, MeshyAI, Presonus Studio One, and Bandlab.

  • Listen To "The Nobody Hole" (LP, 2006)

    The Nobody Hole is a multimedia dark hip-hop opera written between 2005 and 2006 with music composed entirely by Noho Fidel (fka “Badtouch”). It is exactly 60 minutes long. It is not a loose concept album, but rather a literary work set to music. It features narration by Nzinga Kadalie, and art collaborations with Doug Hoffman.

  • Gameplay Mechanics

    Our gameplay demo is lean. The objective was to get a basic idea across, and show that we are capable of building the foundation and scaling it. It is a beautiful experience but very basic for the time being.
